Symantec comes up with free removal tool for Conficker.c worm

If you end up infected on this worm then you did not keep your system
up to date with the latest patches and Service Pacs from Microsoft,
and most anti Virus software if kept up to date would catch this parasite.
Also Microsoft has posted a $250,000 dollar reward for the person &
or persons who created this worm.

Microsoft offers reward for arrest and conviction of
person or persons who created the
Blaster, Sobig, MyDoom and DoomJuice viruses and more.

How do you know if you have a virus?

Is your computer suddenly acting a little differently?
Do you have trouble opening programs? 
Are you getting GPF's (general protection faults)?
Has your word processor gone to lunch?
Are you having problems saving documents

I've been sent hundreds of emails asking is this a Virus?

"Please" I beg of you don't do this!

Would you like to stack the odds against yourself on
possibly getting a Virus. This is what you are doing to
me when you forward Suspected email to me.

• Don't open mail from mailer demons (Mail that could not be sent)

• Don't open attachments you were not expecting and for
  god sakes don't open .pif, .scr or double back extensions such as anydocumentname.doc.pif attachments!*

• Learn to spot Spam and don't open it.

• Don't open Email from Admin unless you know who it is from.

• If you are not on a network then you don't have an admin or
  an administrator, Stand alone home computer don't have them!
  
   

* An extension is the 3 letter combination after the document name ie: word.doc
Almost always a double back extension is a virus or malware and would look like this
"word.doc.pif" Word is used as a filler for what ever the documents name is by the way.

 

They (the Virus writers) are playing you for the chump, a sucker!

Don't become a sucker!

Each attachment is a mine field you are
walking in, treat them as such!

Don't use Preview in Outlook or Outlook Express! **
Some Virus's load on opening or viewing of an email.
Don't open email from people you don't know!

** Newer Version of Office 2003 and 2007 fixes this problem.

Please note some viruses won't let you go to anti virus sites.

the latest updates, But every once in a while you still can get infected!

Anti virus software can come under attach and be shut off without
your knowing it has happened!
